- This hub is for : Gemini, Imagen, and Nano Banana stills saved from chat or AI Studio.
- Not for : Veo video frames (use the Veo hub) or ChatGPT Image downloads.
Why Gemini stills get AI Info on Instagram
Gemini and Imagen write a social-ready picture and, on many paths, a provenance block in the same download. Instagram reads C2PA and XMP metadata on feed posts, carousels, Stories stickers you attach as images, and some Reels covers. A mockup that looks like a phone photo can still carry Google software tags in the file you pick from Downloads.
Nano Banana nicknames do not change the job: inspect the file you will tap in the picker. The on-screen chat bubble is not the attachment. Stripping metadata removes common file-level triggers without changing pixels. Pixel-domain marks such as SynthID are a different problem - this hub only prepares the container.
Creators get burned when they clean a Gemini chat PNG, then attach a Google Photos copy, an iMessage forward, or a Stories crop from another app. Those are new writers. This page is the Gemini / Imagen / Nano Banana still from chat or AI Studio - including the exact JPG/PNG you will tap in Instagram.
Batch up to 30 Gemini stills per browser session from one folder. Do not mix Veo frames. Rename after strip if the filename still says Gemini, Imagen, or banana.
What Gemini / Imagen often writes
- C2PA or JUMBF content credentials on Google export paths
- XMP software fields naming Gemini, Imagen, or AI Studio
- EXIF Software strings after a web or app save
- Default filenames that mention Gemini - rename after you clean
- Gemini → Instagram scenario guide
- ChatGPT Image (different stack)
Gemini vs ChatGPT Image vs Veo
ChatGPT Image is OpenAI C2PA/JUMBF on a different download path. Veo frames are video-still grabs; EXIF or filenames often mention the video stack, not Gemini chat. This hub is only the Gemini/Imagen still you downloaded from chat or AI Studio - including Nano Banana nicknames. If the checker shows OpenAI credentials, you grabbed a ChatGPT export. If the file is a pause-frame from Veo, use the Veo hub. Clean the generator that produced the bytes in Downloads, then attach that master; do not mix a Veo thumbnail into a Gemini carousel batch.
Google ships both pictures and video. A Veo pause-frame can sit next to an Imagen PNG in the same Downloads folder. Name folders by tool before you batch. SynthID can still label a checker-clean raster because it lives in pixels - that is a different guide, not a reason to skip C2PA/XMP strip on the Gemini still.
Recommended workflow
- Inspect first: AI metadata checker .
- Export the original Gemini/Imagen raster
- Optional: checker - record C2PA, XMP, EXIF
- Strip those containers in the browser
- Save to an upload-ready folder
- Rename if the filename exposes Gemini
- Attach that master to Instagram, Threads, or Pinterest
Batch up to 30 images per browser session.
Gemini app, AI Studio, and Google Photos
The Gemini consumer app, Google AI Studio, and a later “save” inside Google Photos are three writers. Studio downloads often use a long hash filename. The phone app may land in Camera or Download, then Photos re-encodes when you add the still to a library. Instagram reads whichever bytes you pick - not the preview in Gemini chat.
Treat Photos as a new export. If the checker on the Photos copy differs from the original Gemini download, strip the Photos file you will attach. Cropping for Stories versus feed in another app is also a new file. Do not forward the still through Messages and save the bubble; that re-wrap is not the Gemini master.
- AI Studio and the Gemini app can write different tags - check the file you will tap
- Google Photos “save” is often a re-encode; strip that copy
- Stories crop vs feed crop: strip again if you re-saved
- Messages / chat-forward saves are not the Gemini master
Clean this file before you upload
Strip C2PA and XMP in your browser, then publish the cleaned copy.
Use tool above Check file first
What this tool removes
- C2PA / JUMBF when present on Gemini paths
- XMP generation and software metadata
- EXIF software strings
- PNG text chunks when the save is PNG
Does not remove SynthID or other pixel watermarks. See disclaimer .
Creator scenarios
Typical Gemini social work is a product mockup for a carousel, a Nano Banana portrait for Stories, then the same master on Threads. The failure mode is attaching a Photos library copy or a Canva flatten you never stripped. Keep an upload-ready folder that only receives cleaned last-exports from chat or AI Studio.
- Product mockups from Gemini for Instagram carousels
- Nano Banana stylized portraits before Stories
- AI Studio batch stills for a content week
- Cross-post the same cleaned master to Threads
- Canva layout after Gemini - clean the flat export again
HEIC, iPhone share sheet, and Gemini filenames
iPhone often wraps a Gemini save as HEIC or writes a second file through the share sheet. This remover expects a raster you will actually attach (JPG/PNG/WebP). Convert HEIC if needed, then strip that copy - the original chat PNG in Files may not be what Instagram Compose will tap.
Default downloads still say gemini, imagen, or a long Studio hash. Rename after strip so the picker does not advertise the generator. A mixed folder with Veo frame grabs is how people strip the wrong Google story. Name folders by tool, then run up to 30 files per browser session from one folder only.
- Do not drop Veo JPGs into a Gemini batch
- Share sheet / Files “Save Image” can mint a new container - strip that file
- HEIC in Recents is not automatically the cleaned Gemini PNG
- Rename after strip if the filename still says Gemini
- Carousel: every Gemini slide, not just the cover
Threads, Pinterest, and scheduled Gemini stills
One cleaned master can feed Instagram feed, Threads, and a Pinterest pin when the bytes stay identical. A new crop, a new aspect ratio from Gemini, or a Later/Buffer re-wrap is a new file - strip again. Schedulers that pull from a cloud folder often ingest whatever sits in that folder; keep raw dumps out until this pass is done.
Stories stickers and Reels covers that use a Gemini still are still ingest events. If you flatten type in Canva or Photoshop on top of Gemini, strip the flat export. Re-prompting in Gemini or AI Studio always writes a new download.
- Strip before Later or Buffer ingest
- New Gemini aspect ratio = new strip
- After Canva or Photoshop, strip the flat export again
- Do not upload a Photos re-encode of the Gemini save
- Do not assume AI Studio and the Gemini app write the same tags
If a label remains
Compare the bytes Instagram ingested with your cleaned master. WhatsApp, Messages, and Gemini chat forwarding often re-encode. If the checker is clean on the file you think you uploaded, you likely attached a different copy - or the remaining UI is caption disclosure, a classifier, or SynthID, not leftover Google C2PA in the master.
App vs AI Studio vs Photos can disagree on the same prompt. Re-check the exact JPG/PNG in the Instagram picker, including a Stories crop you saved out. This hub does not strip Veo MP4 atoms or pixel-domain watermarks.
FAQ
Does Gemini or Imagen embed C2PA in downloads?
Many Gemini and Imagen stills carry Google provenance: C2PA-style credentials, XMP software tags, or EXIF strings naming Gemini / Imagen. Instagram, Threads, and Pinterest can read those blocks on the exact JPG or PNG you attach. Inspect that file - not the on-screen preview - before you post.
Is Nano Banana the same as Gemini image?
Nano Banana is a common nickname for recent Gemini image models. Treat the download like any Gemini or Imagen raster: checker first, then strip C2PA/XMP on the bytes you will upload.
Gemini still vs Veo frame - same hub?
No. This page is Gemini / Imagen / Nano Banana stills from chat or AI Studio. Veo pause-frames and cover grabs have their own hub. Clean the generator that wrote the file you hold.
Is Gemini metadata the same as ChatGPT Image?
Both may ship content credentials, but the stacks differ: Google vs OpenAI. Do not reuse a ChatGPT export habit on a Gemini download. Run the checker on this file, then strip.
Does AI Studio write the same tags as the Gemini app?
Often not. AI Studio downloads, the Gemini consumer app, and a later Google Photos save can differ in XMP and filenames. Check the exact JPG/PNG you will tap in Instagram - not the chat preview.
Can I batch-clean Gemini stills?
Yes - up to 30 JPG/PNG per browser session. Process every Gemini save before an Instagram carousel or a week of scheduled posts.
Save from Google Photos after Gemini - same file?
Usually not. Google Photos often re-encodes the file. Strip the copy you will attach. A cleaned Gemini download is not a cleaned Photos export.
Does this remove SynthID?
No. SynthID is a pixel-domain watermark. This tool only strips file metadata. If the checker is clean and a label remains, see the SynthID guide.
Mobile Gemini app vs web - same tags?
Export paths differ by app version. Do not assume a phone save is clean. Check the attachment you will tap in Instagram.
Edit in Canva after Gemini - clean twice?
Clean the final flat export. Canva or Photoshop can add another credential layer on top of Google tags.
Label remains after a clean checker?
Re-check the exact upload bytes. If tags are gone, the trigger may be caption disclosure, a classifier, or SynthID - not C2PA in your master.
One cleaned Gemini still for Stories, feed, and Threads?
Yes when the bytes stay identical. If you crop or re-export for Stories, strip that new file. Threads can reuse the same master as Instagram feed only if you did not re-wrap it in chat.
Gemini still saved as HEIC on iPhone?
If Photos or the share sheet wrote HEIC, convert or re-export to JPG/PNG for this tool, then strip that raster. Do not assume the HEIC in Recents is the Gemini download you already cleaned.
Bard or old Gemini export - same tags?
Older Google image paths can still write software XMP. Treat the file you hold as Gemini/Imagen metadata: checker first, then strip C2PA/XMP before Instagram.
Gemini in Google Workspace vs the consumer app?
Enterprise and consumer downloads can differ in filenames and XMP. Check the exact attachment. Workspace policy does not replace file-level strip before a personal Instagram upload.
Should I rename Gemini filenames?
Yes after strip if the name still says gemini, imagen, or banana. Filenames are a weak extra signal; Instagram still reads C2PA/XMP inside the file.
