Do not use
Creators clean an MP4 once, then tap a different Recents still Kling saved beside the video. The MP4 pass never touched that JPG.
Where the still picks up tags
Kling web/app Download image / Save cover can write C2PA or XMP Software . A round-trip through CapCut “just to crop the cover” writes a new still. Canva as a title card on top of a Kling frame is a third raster.
TikTok Photo mode: a Kling last-frame used as slide 1 of a still carousel is a Photo-mode problem, not a video-cover problem. Photo tab: TikTok Photo mode stills .
Kling still workflow
- In Kling, export the exact cover or frame you will attach. One file.
- Do not WhatsApp it “to compress.”
- Optional: inspect that JPG/PNG in the AI metadata checker .
- Strip C2PA and XMP on the still. Archive the original.
- TikTok Video : custom cover ← Social_Ready still. Photo : attach as a slide.
- Do not re-open the cleaned still in Kling or CapCut to “nudge the crop.”
Same still on Instagram Reels cover: identical bytes after one clean. Re-export from Kling for the IG crop and you start over.
What this page does not cover
- Turning off TikTok labels in Settings.
- Pixel watermarks inside the video.
- Hailuo / Luma / Veo frames (different products).
For metadata-driven labels on the Kling still you will attach, strip C2PA/XMP on that raster, then use the Kling cover-still hub . Browser-only; prep, not a Settings toggle.
See Disclaimer .
Attach a Kling cover still on TikTok without leftover file tags
Export the cover raster, strip C2PA/XMP, attach that file - leave the MP4 on the video guides.
- Export the still - Save Kling’s cover JPG, last-frame download, or a frame you actually chose - not a player screenshot.
- Inspect that still - Optional: run the AI metadata checker (/ai-metadata-checker) on the cover file, not the MP4.
- Strip C2PA and XMP - Clean the still in the browser. Keep the Kling video in a separate folder.
- Attach on TikTok - Video post: custom cover. Photo mode: that still as a slide. Use only the cleaned raster.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Kling cover still the same as the Kling MP4?
No. The clip is a video container. The cover (or last-frame save) is a still. TikTok can scan that JPG even when you never re-encode the MP4.
Does this replace the Sora or Runway articles?
No. Those pages are brand-specific. This page is only Kling → a still you attach on TikTok (cover or Photo mode slide).
Do I need ffmpeg for a Kling cover?
No. If you already have a JPG/PNG cover or exported frame, treat it as a still. ffmpeg is for the video post path, not this file.
Can I turn the TikTok AI label off in settings?
Not while C2PA or AI XMP remain in the still you upload. Strip those fields on the cover file first. Remove AI Label Team
