Real fix: export master → checker → strip → upload to Story. Same stack as feed posts.

Story-specific ingest quirks

Stories re-encode aggressively for vertical delivery. Do not assume re-encode removes C2PA - treat like feed uploads. Stickers and text added inside Instagram after upload are separate from file metadata on the still you imported.

When screenshots seem to "work"

Sometimes screenshots drop enough ancillary data that labels disappear - until Instagram changes transcode or you need crisp price text on a promo Story. Agencies cannot rely on screenshot roulette for client brand assets.

For camera HEIC sources, convert to JPG and strip before Story upload - not screenshot from Photos preview.

Batch Story frames for launches

Product drops may need 8-12 Story frames. Batch clean in one session; upload from Story_Ready folder same day to avoid sync conflicts.

Prepare Story stills through the Instagram AI Info hub export-and-strip workflow instead of screenshotting previews.

Poll and link sticker order

Static promo slides you import carry file metadata; poll and link stickers added inside Instagram sit on top of that still. Export externally, strip, import the still, then add stickers - reversing the order does not remove C2PA.

Highlight cover archive

Highlight cover JPGs follow the same still rules as feed posts. Export a square master, strip once, and store it in Story_Ready - do not re-screenshot an old Story when refreshing the icon six months later.

Multi-frame launch chains

Seven-frame product drops: strip all frames in one browser session and upload the same day. iCloud sync delays have mixed clean and dirty frames in a single chain for some teams last quarter - disable auto-upload picks from camera roll during launch week.

Flash-sale countdown graphics from Canva need a fresh strip on each hourly export if Canva re-writes XMP - batch morning exports together.
